Fog

I especially remember one scene from "The Secret" movie. "A car driving through the night. The headlights only go 100-200 ft forward, and you can make it all the way from California to New York driving through the dark, because all you have to see is the next 200 ft. That's how life tends unfold before us. If we just trust that the next 200 ft will unfold after that, the next 200 ft will unfold after that, your life will keep unfolding and it will eventually get you to the destination." And then there's that quote by Martin Luther King Jr.:

"Take the first step in faith.
You don't have to see
the whole straircase.
Just take the first step."

Today, while driving and thinking, I remembered that scene to bring back some faith to my heart. Unfortunately, I was driving then in the densest fog I have seen this year. And I saw even less than those 200 ft. It was in fact difficult to see the traffic lanes at all. I was able to see maybe a couple of meters before me... and the rest was just silent, scary and complete whiteness all around.

At least fog clears, sooner or later, too. I just have to trust that the road will unfold before me.
